I have always been sketptical of pharmaceutical companies. Hearing about products like Vioxx that have side effects resulting in death and serious health conditions.

The trend is very disturbing. I Just saw a commercial for an 5h energy drink (company link: http://www.5hourenergy.com/ ) where the commercial began discuss how it’s the caffeine that makes you crash, but then, discretely adds at the end of the commercial that the 5h hour energy beverage itself has as much caffeine as a cup of coffee.
In between the product is described as having B vitamins amino acids and enzymes and has a little blurb at the bottom of the page that even the best of 20/20 vision and a flat screen can hardly make legible.
Best of all is that at the end of the commercial it displays the logos and trademarks of the places that sell the product such as Walgreens and many other well known brands. This is what many would consider a successful partnership the commercials will drive in store sales in turn driving their own sales and building stronger brands. Nevertheless, Walgreens and the others have strong brand recognition and are endorsing products, which may not necessarily be wise.
